PLAN AND PROGRAM:

Day 1: ZAGREB-ISTANBUL

Gathering at the airport “Franjo Tuđman” two and a half hours before the flight. We fly to Istanbul at 09:15. Arrival at 1:30 p.m. Flight to Nevşehir at 19:30. Arrival in Nevşehir at 20:50 and transfer to accommodation in Cappadocia. Free time. Overnight stay.

Day 2: Balloon flight and traditional Turkish evening

It sounds like a wonderful experience that will surely remain etched in your memory. A hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia will give you an incredible view of one of the most photogenic regions in the world, while a traditional Turkish evening will bring you delicious food and a rich cultural experience.

Here is some additional information you may want to know:

Balloon ride over Cappadocia: This hot air balloon ride often starts early in the morning, so you can enjoy the sunrise over the beautiful landscape of Cappadocia.
It is recommended to wear warmer clothes because the morning air can be fresh.
Be prepared for an early start, because this experience is special because of the magic of the morning light.

Traditional Turkish evening: Cave restaurants are a typical feature of the Cappadocia region and will provide you with a unique dining environment.
Turkish cuisine is rich in various flavors, including meat, vegetable and dairy specialties. Try different traditional Turkish dishes.
Belly dancing and other traditional dance performances are often part of the entertainment at dinner. You might even have the chance to learn some belly dancing basics!

Day 3: Tour on horses and safari jeeps

This day sounds like a real adventure experience in the beautiful landscape of Cappadocia. Here are some notes you should consider for these optional tours:

Horse riding: If you are not an experienced rider, don’t worry, most of these tours are also suitable for beginners. Be sure to wear appropriate riding clothing and footwear to keep you comfortable while riding.
Be considerate of the horses and follow the guide’s instructions to ensure the safety of all participants.

Jeep safari: This is a great way to explore the hidden corners of Cappadocia, but be prepared for dust and rough terrain while riding the jeeps. Depending on the season, evening temperatures can be lower, so make sure you have enough layers to stay warm. Don’t forget your camera or mobile phone to capture the beautiful views of Cappadocia.

Day 4: The heart of Cappadocia

After breakfast, we go on an optional excursion – the heart of Cappadocia. If the name of this historically very important region were translated into Croatian, it would mean “land of beautiful horses”. For centuries, the influences of Persia, Alexander the Great, Roman rulers and early Christians mixed in this area, while today this region is part of Turkey and an important tourist destination. It is characterized by unusual geological formations carved into white stone (white volcanic ash). We start the trip with a trip to the nearby viewpoint, with a beautiful view of Göreme. We also visit the Zelve Open Air Museum. We continue the adventure and visit Čavushin, an old picturesque Greek village with authentic and abandoned Greek houses. Lunch break in the town of Avanos. After a break in Avanos, we head towards Paşabağ – a locality with unusual mushroom formations! Paşabağ is also called the valley of the monks because of the church of Saint Simeon, which is located in the valley itself. Paşabağ is followed by a fascinating valley of the imagination: Devrent Valley, full of natural red stone formations.

Day 5: Mystical tour and New Year’s Eve

Optional excursion – Mystical tour. A day dedicated to exploring the beauty of Cappadocia! First, we visit the viewpoint in Göreme (Göreme Panaroma), where we enjoy incredible and unique views. From there, we continue our tour of the underground city of Derinkuyu, the largest and deepest underground fortified settlement. We also visit Selima Cathedral – the largest stone monastery in the region. We take a break for lunch and eat delicious local specialties. After lunch, we hike along the Melendiz river in the Ihlara canyon. Finally, we visit the Valley of Pigeons, which is located in Uçhisar and offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views in this part of the world. Return to accommodation. We are preparing for the craziest night of the year!

Day 6: Quad tour

Today we have the opportunity for an optional quad ride through this magical Turkish area! Of course, the ride will take place in the afternoon to start our first adventure in 2024 fresh and ready! This unique tour will take you through some of the most beautiful areas, including Göreme, Güllüdere Valley, Valley of Love and Vuavuşin Village. During this adventure, we will have the opportunity to greet the sunset, after which we will return to the accommodation for the night.

Day 7: Leaving the accommodation and returning

We leave accommodation, transport to Nevşehir airport. Flight to Istanbul at 09:45. Arrival in Istanbul at 11:15 a.m. and transfer to the flight to Zagreb at 7:00 p.m. Return to Zagreb at 19:05 and the end of the trip.
